During this time in order to minimise the risk for our patients and staff initial appointments are offered via telephone and/or video consultations.  If appropriate we are booking face to face appointments to examine patients however this would be following an initial telephone or video triage appointment.  Important Patient Notice      Due to the corona virus outbreak we have been advised to remove online appointment booking so that all appointments can be triaged prior to being made. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause but we have to ensure the safety of ALL our patients and staff. Thank you.  .  In addition we respectfully request that where possible patient requests are made via our telephone lines (we have added an additional telephone line to increase capacity).  In addition for all patients coming to Stoke Health Centre we are observing strict 2 metre distancing rules and ask patients and their relatives/carer to provide their own face covering to ensure the safety of all patients and staff.  Thank you for your help during this difficult time.

We want to serve our patients the best we can, especially those who are anxious because they and family members are getting ill. Please exercise patience when dealing with any healthcare professionals over the coming weeks.  We are amongst those at the highest risk of infection as we come into contact with all types of sick patients every day.  We are already feeling the effects of mass panic and dealing with increased workload so that we can continue to look after you and keep transmission risk low. It is vital that we continue to provide these services (we cannot provide this service working from home) but it will be a trying time for the foreseeable future for all of us so please, if you are getting frustrated with waiting times in pharmacies or not being able to see a nurse or a doctor, take a moment to think how we are feeling, desperately trying to give you the best service we can whilst also ensuring we do not put ourselves or, more importantly, any of our vulnerable patients at risk.

At this time, particularly if you start to experience respiratory problems, a Doctor from Queens Hospital has shared his advice on breathing techniques via the link below (please note this link has been widely publicised and will take you to a video link on YouTube).
